Aroma Espresso Bar

Great sandwiches (amazing bread), pastries and a large selection of coffee beverages. We happened to walk by the Aroma Espresso Bar on 42nd street and decided to go in for a quick lunch.

There is a large menu on the wall with various drinks, sandwiches, salads, pastries and more. We went for the Mozzarella and the Greek sandwiches; they offer both half and full sandwiches. Full sandwiches quiet generous so decide prior ordering. We were only able to eat the half of them and took the other half with us for later.

Their bread is amazing, one of the best I've had at any sandwich shop. They also offer white or whole wheat but they are both incredibly fresh and tasty and pretty much make the sandwich no matter what's between the two slices. We didn't get any coffee or espresso but instead got fresh OJ and lemonade which both were very good. Your order always comes with a small piece of their signature chocolate as a small treat. To finish up we shared a yummy alfajor (it's basically two biscuits sandwich with a jam center and covered with powdered sugar, similar to macarons - very popular in South America). They even had Burekas and Sambusask which are pastry type of food from Eastern Europe and Mediterranean.

In the front there is a decent size sitting area with high tables and chairs, it would probably accommodate twenty people comfortably, if you are considering eating-in.

On the way out I noticed a Happy Hour sign with 10% discount so check out their Facebook and twitter pages for store specific deals. There are two other stores; one in SoHo and the other in UWS.
