The North Fork Table & Inn and Paumanok Vineyards announces "Tour de Forks"

North Fork of Long Island offers some of the greatest vineyard tasting rooms and some amazing restaurants tucked in far corners of the Long Island. I always thought of North Fork as a great place to take an overnight or a day trip from Manhattan to enjoy the sights and sounds.

Paumanok Vineyards from the Massoud Family is one of the finest wineries in this region. Their tasting room offers a large selection on the current vintage as well as a library of previous vintages. You can always see on of the family members in the tasting room either pouring or their explaining wine making techniques. They are a great bunch of people and it is always a pleasure to drop in to say hello and restock the wine cellar.

When it comes to the restaurants in this area North Fork Table & Inn is one of the finest. I was fortunate enough to dine and experience their dishes with local ingredients taken to new heights of taste.

Here is the invite from Paumanok Vineyards:

We hope you can join us for this exciting event at The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold, "Tour de Forks". The general idea is to bring that special, old, rare, big bottle of Paumanok or other Long Island wine to share with others at the dinner who will be doing the same. North Fork Table's Mike Mraz describes the event as follows:

I've promised you exciting wine events and now I shall deliver. I present the first annual "Tour de Forks"! In the spirit of La Paulée, we will be organizing an event that will provide both you and the local wineries the reason to open those special vintage East End bottles and to share them with friends.

In case you aren't familiar with the format (and I urge you to click on the above link) this is basically a fancy BYOB party. We will provide you with a communal venue and Feast to enjoy the wines you've been waiting for a "special occasion" to open. We will shut down the restaurant so you and your like-minded fellows can "geek out" and perhaps even engage in a little friendly one upsmanship! It almost goes without saying that the food will be on par with the juice. I could go on and on but the most important thing to take away from this is that it's going to be fun, fun, fun!
